From Maupin, you can access over 1.65 million acres of Central Oregon’s vast public lands that include the Mt Hood National Forest, the Deschutes River and surrounding uplands that provide habitat for big game such as elk, mule deer, and bighorn sheep as well as upland game birds and waterfowl.

If the hills are too steep, you are looking to entertain clients or you need a place to work your birddogs, try one of the areas 12 extended-season shooting preserves for chukar, quail, or pheasant. Badger Creek Members Club and Sage Canyon Outfitters offer packages ranging from single hunter guided and non-guided hunts to corporate groups within a 20 minute drive from Maupin.

The high-desert climate makes Maupin a perfect choice to base and hunt nearly year-round.

Please check the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s regulations for current open seasons and regulations.
