When you ride our Oregon 2019 route this summer, you won’t simply see Oregon–you’ll experience it.
Our June 22 – 29 Oregon route takes us to a spectacular part of the state that many people overlook – to their detriment. Beyond the Earth’s history written in the rocks you’ll pedal past, this loop through north-central Oregon serves up a smorgasbord of scenic variety.
From precipitous river canyons that provide gleeful descents in and challenging climbs out, to stately wind turbines lining the landscape; from verdant green crop fields to mountain peaks over your shoulder; from roads on the banks of rushing rivers to stark buttes and mesas – this part of the state will take your breath away in a different way every day.
And then there are the highlights along the way. Browse the only rural outpost of Powell’s Books, raft the rapids of the Deschutes, poke around a pretty fancy ghost town, lie back on the grass outside a century-old one-room schoolhouse, learn the fascinating physical history of the region at a world-class museum, and learn the depth of small-town Irish hospitality. Our host communities will welcome you with warmth and pride, eager to show you why their town is the best place in Oregon to live.
You’ll end the week intimately familiar with some of the most varied and dramatic scenery in Oregon.
