Camp in Maupin

Maupin’s dry, sunny weather makes it an ideal place to truly get away. Relax by the river and gaze at the innumerable stars visible in the crystal-clear night skies with friends and family. We have several campsites ranging from pristine riverside tent sites to RV pads with full hook-ups. While summer is the most popular season to camp in Maupin, we also recommend venturing out during the spring or autumn – the weather here is usually beautiful!

Note:  Annual campfire restrictions go into effect June 1 through October 15 on BLM public lands including the Deschutes River. The main goal of the BLM is promoting safety, and the river canyons present a combination of limited access, grassy fuels that dry out quickly, and steep slopes that allow wildfires to spread rapidly. Please follow these closures. The river fire closures prohibit building, igniting, maintaining, attending, using, tending, or being within 20 feet of a campfire, charcoal fire, or any other type of open flame. This closure bans the use of portable propane campfires and wood pellet burning devices. The closure also restricts areas where visitors can smoke to non-public buildings, closed vehicles, in boats on the water or while standing in the water.
